Rideshare FAQ

Rideshare companies like Uber may not allow insurance claim-provided hire vehicles to be used for ridesharing while your own car is being repaired after an accident.

As a rideshare driver who operates their own car, you may also want a vehicle while your car is at your mechanic for a longer service. Our rental offers are designed just for these situations, to get you behind the wheel of a car of the type that Uber has already pre-approved.

If you are an authorised existing rideshare driver (e.g. with Uber) you may rent a vehicle.

  • You can return the rental car at any time, but no refunds are payable.
    Yes. All car rentals include a free allowance. This is set by the owner, ranging from 1,050 to unlimited kilometres. The specific amount is shown in each car listing.
    Yes. A security deposit is required prior to renting. The amount is $300 for most vehicles. This amount is refunded 7 days after the vehicle is returned, subject to any damage, fines, tolls or cleaning costs that may have been incurred.
    Yes, the car must be returned in a clean condition with the same amount of fuel provided at the time of pick up.
    Yes! Roadside Assistance is available nationwide and can be accessed 24 hours a day.
    Yes, all cars are covered by our motor vehicle fleet insurance policy. A Damage Liability Charge does apply.
    Should you be involved in an accident, you will be responsible for paying the Damage Liability Charge of $1,000. (This amount can be found in your Rental Agreement). You may reduce the Damage Liability Charge to $500 by paying a daily fee of $4.00 inc GST per day. Your Account Manager will be able to discuss this option.
    You may nominate an additional driver for personal use only. There is no charge. Speak to an Account Manager to arrange this. Please note: only one driver may use the vehicle for rideshare driving.
    The renter is responsible for the payment of all tolls and fines. We recommended that you use your own eTag or set up an online pass to easily pay your tolls.
